BEWARE!!!! Many many many pictures after the sad post....

5 years ago, this was the saddest day of my life when my grandmother left me.
Up till today (and now as I type), my tears would still flow uncontrollably whenever I think of her.

I still remember vividly the series of events that day.....

I received a call at
5am in the morning from my aunt that my grandmother had left us. The night before, we were all by her hospital bed watching her gasp for air and waiting to die. I cried so much that night. Strangely, when I got that worst call of my life the next morning, I did not cry. Instead, I woke up, made my bed and went down to the void deck. I sat at the ceramic stool where my grandma sits everyday. She would sit there after she came home from the market to catch up with her friends, start peeling her vegetables, talk about the price of fish and prawns, or gossip about some random old woman whose funeral was held 2 blocks away. When I was much younger, I would always sit there and kill time with her and her lao-cha-bor friends.

That day, I sat there alone and waited for her.

At
9am, she came home, but this time, in a coffin.

Cold and motionless, and all I wanted at that moment was for her to talk to me.
I wanted to tell her how much I love the yummy siew mais that she always buy for our breakfast, that I will never disobey her again, that I will bring her to Hongkong when I get my first salary.

But I didn't. I was lost for words.

5 years later on this same day, my brother got engaged.
I was extremely happy for him when he told us about it. I am happy that he is starting his own family with someone he loves. But deep down in my heart, I am upset and disappointed that he chose a day where I will not be around to witness the happy day of his life.

He is my only family in this world. I would do everything I can to change my wedding day if he could not make it for my wedding day. I would want him to be there to share my joy and witness a new chapter of my life. I would want him to see me kiss the man of my life and know that we have both broken away from our childhood nightmares of a horrible family our parents had created for us.

But he didn't do that for me. He did not wait for me.
I just dunno how I should feel...

The significance of March 20th have changed for him...
Every year today, he would be celebrating this day with his wife.

But for me, March 20th will always be the day when my beloved grandmother left me AND the day my brother got engaged without me being there...

I am not selfish. I am just upset.
I still wish for the best for my brother Ben and his wife... that they will be happy everyday in their lives...All I ever dreamed about was a vision of CNYs where his family and my family would sit together and chat happily...

Po-po, I miss you so much...

I just realised that my brother's wedding was not approved by SAF cos his wife is Malaysian.
Thus, it is postponed to June. Strangely, I feel happier. :)

Very EMO, pai-seh, MY BAD!!! :P
On a second thought, I blame my 3 little cousins..
Oiiiiiiiii, all ya gals fault lah, you are my messengers should have kept me updated with current affairs ok?? Make me sad for soo long..I blame you all LAH!!!

Pictures from Boston :)

-Day 1-
So excited to see Michie...!!!

After 2hrs drive and a wonderful afternoon snack,
OUR FIRST STOP ---->
!!!!!!!!!!!!!HARVARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Harvard has some nice-looking trees!!!

These are all taken at Harvard Square, a small community with nice (and not so nice) little shops that sells Harvard stuff!! And my, they are all sooo overpriced!!! Just because the name Harvard is printed on it!!! -geeeez-

Then we started driving to downtown Boston, in search of Quincy Market for dinner and more importantly, an indoors place!!!
SO HERE WE ARE!!!

Cam-whoring outside Quincy Market

Inside Quincy Market!!! Sooo sooo much food!!!

9USD per bottle President Candidates Tobasco Sauces!!!

Back at the hotel where we ate all the yummilicious food we got from Quincy market!!!

DAY 2!!
SUNNY but FREAKING WINDY!!
Very excited though.... :)

Follow the red line and tour the whole of Boston!!
FREEDOM TRAIL!!!

*1st stop of Day 2
BUNKER HILL MONUMENT...

*2nd stop - USS Constitution

3rd Stop: Beacon Hill
An area of pretty pretty and expensive house.. (saw on ad about 2k USD for a one bedroom apartment..) We walked around the beautiful, expensive estate with pretty 7-11s and Starbucks! And, the most important mission in Beacon Hill is to photograph the acclaimed
"MOST PHOTOGRAPHED/BEAUTIFUL STREET IN UNITED STATES"

And what else to do there (after a much long long walk) but....
CAMWHORE?????????

Take #1

Take #2

Take #199

Take #268

4th stop: MASSACHUSETTS OLD STATE HOUSE...

And guess who /what we saw in front of the state house??
The BUNNY guy with BUNNY CAR giving out GOLDEN EASTER BUNNIES!!!
I hugs the car!!!

Our bunnies all lined up for photo-taking :)
Pls forgive Mich's ugly looking rabbit!!!
She is such a hawk for sweet things!!
Chocs!! Pastries!!!

Goofing around.....

5th Stop: Boston Common and Frog Pond..
Which I think will be very very beautiful in Spring, Fall or when it is snowy snowy Winter!! Frog Pond is not a pond but an outdoor ice-skating rink. Maybe its a pond in summer...
I D U N N O.......

6th Stop - Where else next but Quincy Market for yummy lunch!!!???
One will never get sick of Quincy Market!!
At least not me..

The Little Italy in the north end of Boston where we had all the yummy pastries..
Very pretty streets but I still like Beacon Hill better. :)

8th stop - Paul Revere's house...
Not much of a sight I would say....
And IMO, definitely not worth 3usd to get in..
Hahaha...Look at our confused looks....

9th stop -The Old North Church.
Our last stop on the Freedom Trail...

The heroic Paul Revere from who fought the war against the English??
A more worthy sight than his house (above).... really....

Next, MORE College shopping!!
We drove back to Cambridge and visited Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)

An interesting buildings in MIT.

Overall, I think Harvard is very different from MIT.
Harvard is old, rich, very nice and antigua (spanish word) buildings with lots lots lots of tourists. Very happening with an exciting Harvard Square!!!
MIT is younger and very vibrant, but much quieter.
And right now, I dunno if UConn is on par with this two colleges...
I D U N N O!!!

Back to Boston Chinatown, deciding where to eat for dinner..
We had yummy lobster in the end, if you remember from my previous post. :)

END OF BOSTON TRIP!!!
I HAD FUN....

AND NOW I WANNA WANNA GO TO NEW YORK CITY!!!
