I hugs American TV!!
After the nasty freezing rain on Friday!!!
Its SUNNY for two days straight!!
Hoooooooooray!! :D
The only enjoyment, besides cooking, I am getting from this whole USA experience is definitely watching television. We have over 100 channels on television, and I watch the television from 6 to about 11 everyday. On weekends, when I am stucked at home, i watch tv ALL day!! Once, I watched 4hrs of American Next Top Model straight!! O_o"'
My favorite channel is Fox where they show mainly game shows - Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, American Idol (obviously not a game show but still hilariously entertaining), Deal or No Deal and the latest slamming Moment of Truth. This game, is to win money just by telling the truth. The prize money is USD500,000!! And they ask embarassing questions, in the presence of your family, colleagues and lover!! And of course, they verify the truth by hooking you up to the lie detector.
My favorite questions thus far,
1. Have you ever flirted with other other women on the internet?
2. Have you every tried to hit on one of your girlfriend's friends?
3. Do you plan to be a virgin till your wedding day?
4. Have you ever touched someone at work inappropriately?
5. Have you ever done something wrong at work and let your colleagues take the blame?
6. Have you ever gambled away your son's college money?
7. Would you leave your girlfriend if your ex-wife wants to get back with you?
I have a feeling this show will not be shown in Singapore. We're just too morally right!! :P
And this weekend, I watched 5 movies -
1. Pulp Fiction - Apparently is my housemate Nima's favorite movie of all times. he watched it 20 freaking times. 2nd movie of Quentin Tarantino, starring Bruce Willis, John Tralvota, Uma Thurma, Samuel L Jackson. Very very deep and soo hard to understand.
2. Knocked Up (DVD)- Watched it in Dee's room while the boys were in the living room watching mixed martial arts competition when big men hit other big men. They pooled about 40USD to order the game on cable and had beer while they watch. So we girls, who apparently do not wanna sit in the living room while the boys screamed over their beers. Anyway, this show is about Izzie (from Grey's Anatomy) gets pregnant after a one-night-stand with an ugly fat guy. And how after many many obstacles and relationship issues, fell in love and got together to raise their child. Not the best storyline, but was funny.
3. Mr Woodcock (DVD) - Lousy movie. No famous actor. Stupid and unoriginal storyline. No jokes at all. Everyone was so upset that we sat thru the movie when it was sooo lousy.
4. Saving the Last Dance - Watched it the first time in 2001 with some people from Poly. It was good. And i especially love the last comtemporary piece when she mixed hip-hop dance with modern ballet. SLAMMING!!
5. What Women Want - Mel Gibson with the ability to hear women's thoughts.. :)
It may be a pathetic excuse to stay home to watch TV. But TV rocks.
I know I said I am going to the malls this week. I didn't. But hey, I went to Big Y to spend money there on groceries again!!!!
BUT I found a way that I might be able to go to the malls.
Will let you guys know when I finally get to go. Haha :)
Oh, right..I learned a drinking game last night!!!
So, the boys got lots and lots of beer for the big game last night rite? And they decided to "get high" first with a game of "beer-pong" in the basement!!
So what is beer-pong? It is beer + ping-pong!!! Haha...
So, the game goes like this: Each team of two players stands on one side on the ping-pong table with like 10 cups, arranged in a pyramid, filled with beer. And each person gets a chance to throw a ping-pong ball across the table, hopefully into ya opponents' cups. If the ball goes in, they have to drink up!! The team that clears all 10 cups first wins!!
After losing 3 games straight, I self-declared myself as the best new-comer!!
No really...I was really good for a first-timer!! :)
Today is the day my room-mate will move in. I'm excited!!
